**About The Sharing Place Food Centre**:The Sharing Place Food Centre is a community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping Orillia area residents living with food insecurity. With support from more than 100 dynamic volunteers, donors, staff, and community partners we provide a diverse set of programs that strive to create a healthy community through access to nutritious food. If you are an outgoing, energetic, positive Social Service Worker student who is looking for an educational, hands-on, summer experience working to combat food insecurity in Orillia and surrounding areas, then you should apply.

**Job purpose**: The purpose of the Member Services Assistant is to make sure the members have a dignified, equitable and welcoming experience while they access the Food Bank program and support the Member Services Coordinator in their roles and responsibilities.

**Member Services Assistant Duties and responsibilities**
- Support community members as they access our food bank programs.
- _Service with Dignity eLearning Course will be provided_
- Maintaining communication and positive relationships with local social service agencies to coordinate food support through collaborative outreach and to ensure that the community partners are aware of the agency’s available programs.
- Reviewing and resolving client accounts for inaccuracies, duplications, and missing data, and for monthly outcomes reporting on Link-2-Feed.
- Ensure food bank distribution inventory is maintained as part of a team of distribution and warehouse volunteers and staff.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of volunteer information, availability, and skills.
- Assist with volunteer scheduling.

**Qualifications**
- As this is a Canada Summer Jobs position, applicants must be between the ages of 15 - 30
- Social Service Worker student preferred. Equivalent student/work experience and career goals will be considered.
- Experience in conflict resolution with people struggling with addictions and mental illness.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly, bend, stretch, and stand for extended periods.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft office suite of products.
- Comfortable navigating computer software.
- Clean Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

**Job Details**

**Hours of work**: Your schedule is a four-day work week, Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9:00 AM -to
- 4:30 PM and Tuesday from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM, for a total of 30 hours per week.

**Wage**:$17.50/hr.

**NOTE**: Position pending Canada Summer Jobs funding

**Salary**: $17.50 per hour
