Position Summary
***:
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provides assistance to Senior Human Resources Business Partner/Recruitment Specialist on recruitment requests and daily recruitment activities, provides information related to recruitment policies, practices and procedures.
- Reviews and posts internal and external job competitions.
- Schedules and coordinates interviews as per hospital policies and collective agreement requirements.
- Provides input on recruitment policies and procedures and recommends new policies and procedures, as appropriate, in order to meet client Department’s particular needs.
- Responds to internal and external applicant inquiries relative to postings and advertisements, refers to appropriate members of the HR Team, as appropriate.
- Maintains various spreadsheets to support the recruitment process, as required.
- Assisting the HR Team with the finalization of the hiring process including verbal and written job offers, upon agreement with the departmental manager involved.
- Assists with various clerical functions of the main HR Office including preparing general correspondence, filing, photocopying, printing, and replenishing supplies as appropriate.
- Participates in various HR related projects and work groups, as assigned
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the HR Team.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Diploma (1 year or more) in Business Administration or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Experience**:
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a Human Resources environment, including some recruitment experience.
**Competencies**:
- General knowledge of relevant Employment and Human Services legislation, acts and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of a unionized work environment
- General knowledge of current HR practices, procedures and theory related to recruitment and selection.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in core competencies regarding: customer service, teamwork, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
- Demonstrated initiative and good judgment in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to new situations/challenges
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize a heavy workload and multi-task.
- Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in situations that may require tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently independently and in a teamwork environment.
- Demonstrated ability to demonstrate through performance, an acceptable level of ethical conduct and strict confidentiality.
