**Job Overview**

We are currently looking for a President & CEO and have engaged Lincoln Strategic to oversee the search. The President & CEO is responsible for strategic and operational leadership in managing, planning, and implementing AME activities in support of its strategic and annual work plans and matters of critical significance to its members. The President & CEO role models AME’s Core Values to be respectful, focused, effective, informative, and inclusive in all aspects of their work, while also fostering role clarity, shaping a positive work culture, and demonstrating well-rounded leadership with the board, members, colleagues, governments, partners, and the public.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
**Strategic Leadership**
- Provide industry leadership and guidance in support of AME’s mission, vision and guiding principles;
- Work with Board of Directors, Committees and AME members to understand and align member interests, and develop and implement a representative and balanced strategic plan for key priority areas;
- Execute AME’s strategic plan, key priority areas, and emerging issues, through collaboration and partnership, including AME’s annual Roundup conference, ensuring strategic and fiscal alignment.

**Member of the Board of Directors & the Executive Committee**
- Contribute as an AME Director, provides advice, guidance and recommendations, as required and requested, to the Board and committees;
- Provide regular updates to and implement the directives of the Board and Executive Committee;
- Support AME’s Executive Committee in the development of the annual succession plan for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
- Liaison between the day-to-day execution of the team’s work and the board’s overall direction.

**Partner Engagement & Communication**
- Represent and advocate on behalf of AME to a variety of different groups, understanding and respecting diverse interests;
- Act as AME’s ambassador and spokesperson by engaging, communicating and participating with all groups on behalf of members;
- Lead, advocate, and develop partnerships with external groups in support of AME’s mission, vision, guiding principles and strategic priorities;
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with a broad range of audiences including AME members, industry and business partners, government leaders and officials, indigenous groups and leaders, non
- governmental stakeholders and the public;
- Ensure AME’s members interests are represented, understood, recognized and protected; continuously works to ensure that members are aware of these activities.

**Staff Development & Operational Management**
- Ensure AME has the necessary resources (staff, equipment, systems, office, etc.) required to successfully execute and complete AME’s strategic and annual work plans;
- Manage daily operations by ensuring the appropriate individuals are engaged at the right levels and held accountable for processes that support the execution of key priorities outlined in the strategic plan;
- Provide management, leadership and mentorship to AME staff and consultants to ensure that AME’s strategic objectives and priorities are achieved, and that each group understands the common goal of AME;
- Create a supportive and positive working environment representative of AME’s mission, vision, guiding principles and priorities;
- Implement programs that positively support AME’s employee performance and professional development;
- Effectively manage senior staff to be resourceful, adaptable, flexible and successful in their roles.

**Financial Affairs**
- Effectively manage AME’s financial resources to achieve results and add value to the Association in the interests of members;
- Develop and deliver a budget that matches resources with AME members’ priorities, Board and Executive Committee directives and AME’s strategic and annual plans;
- Ensure financial stewardship by promoting accountability and transparency, managing financial risk, and supporting long-term sustainability;
- Review and approve quarterly financials; communicate regularly with AME’s Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee to ensure fiscal responsibility and accountability;
- Promote financial literacy and responsibility across the leadership team and set the tone for modeling ethical financial behavior.

**Education, Skills & Requirements**
- 15+ years of direct experience as a hand-on operational leader in a similar industry, with a preference for mineral exploration or mining;
- Strategic thinker with the ability to plan, manage and implement strategies and identify key priorities;
- Strong and credible spokesperson, demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills to build relationships and deliver clear, consistent messages to diverse internal and external audiences;
