**Position Overview**
The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting NEC's project and communications strategy by managing the administrative elements of projects, content creation, digital engagement, and public relations activities. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Coordinator will collaborate with various teams to develop and disseminate clear, compelling messages that reflect NEC's mission and values.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Project and Communications Planning & Strategy**
- Assist in the development and execution of communication strategies that align with NEC's goals.
- Support the Director of Development in managing communication plans for projects in northern Canada.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Support project delivery activities
**2. Content Creation & Management**
- Create, edit, and manage content for NEC’s digital platforms, including websites, blogs, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
- Maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and consistent communication.
- Develop and manage social media advertising campaigns to enhance NEC’s online presence.
**3. Public Relations & Stakeholder Engagement**
- Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate interviews, press releases, and other PR activities.
- Engage with Indigenous communities, local stakeholders, and project partners to ensure NEC’s communication reflects cultural sensitivity and local perspectives.
- Monitor and report on media coverage and public sentiment regarding NEC's projects and initiatives.
**4. Brand Management & Consistency**
- Ensure that all communication materials adhere to NEC’s brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with external graphic designers and translators to create visually appealing and culturally appropriate materials.
**5. Measurement & Reporting**
- Develop reports and presentations related to the Project.
- Track and analyze the performance of communication campaigns and provide regular reports to the Director of Development.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a project support role, preferably within the renewable energy or environmental sector.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva) and basic video editing is an asset.
- Familiarity with Indigenous cultures and issues related to Northern Canada and Alaska is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
**Additional Assets**:
- Experience in community engagement and public relations in a Northern context.
- Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and its communication challenges.
