Reporting to the VP of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting for the financial management of the organization including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities will also include significant process improvement and system implementation.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing and publishing timely yearly and monthly financial statements/reports, and analyzing and evaluating financial data for the Executive team;
- Implementing and maintaining an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, and procedures to ensure compliance, maintain data integrity, corporate governance and execution;
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
- Enhancing employee efficiencies and productivity by analyzing and improving processes and procedures;
- Managing the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances;
- Developing and managing cash flow forecast;
- Facilitating year-end financial review engagement with external auditors and organizing annual inventory count and providing timely reports on results and operational changes required;
- Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
- Complying with federal and provincial tax requirements by studying existing and new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements;
- Managing, training and leading a team of professionals

**Your story**

You have a minimum of five years of experience as a Controller or equivalent, and hold your Accounting Designation as a CPA, CMA, CGA or CA. You have a thorough understanding of accounting principles, procedures, legislation, year-end and inventory management, and federal and provincial tax regulations. You have a proven track record of process improvement and system implementation. You are an effective leader with the ability to motivate your team to produce quality work within tight timelines. If you have experience in the retail industry, that is a huge asset.
