Acquired by The Star Group in 2011, Sliced FC is a fresh-cut facility in Calgary, Alberta that serves customers across Canada in retail, food service, convenience and other areas of the fresh food industry. With more than 150 team members, Sliced makes products such as cut fruit trays for grocery stores, fresh salsas and dips for food service outlets and chopped vegetables for customers such as pizza restaurant chains.

**Focus**

The Sliced FC Business Analyst will measure our work every day, work closely with our Production team, liaise with our Accounting and Finance colleagues and make recommendations to the Plant Manager and President for how to improve.

These measurements will include labour (how much time does it take to peel a mango?), yield (how much usable product do we get after we peel and core a pineapple?), financial efficiency (finding ways to do everything better) and lots of other stuff.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Measuring our work daily in search of continuous improvement
- Reporting findings: in-the-moment, weekly, monthly & quarterly
- Prepare documents for use by senior business leaders
- Prepare documents for use by Finance/Accounting
- Some admin/paperwork requirements for month-end, supporting documents and new product/customer setup

**Key Attributes and Skills**
- Exceptional financial literacy and a business-minded approach
- You love good data, hate bad data and can immediately tell the difference between the two
- Inefficiency bothers you deeply
- You are able to answer any and all questions your friends have about how to use Microsoft Excel
- You are excited by our mission to feed nutritious, delicious food to Canadians

**Education and Experience**:

- All combinations of education and experience will be considered, but an extremely strong literacy in business, analysis, finance and how profitability models work is required.
- If you don’t know how to build a SUMIFS formula this might not be the job for you.

**Working Conditions**
- We are a small team inside a big company
- Our office (NE Calgary on Country Hills Boulevard) is small and collaborative
- We work hard but are flexible
- This is a 40 hour/week role - some weeks more and some weeks less - but we strive for balance and fiercely value every team member’s time away from work

**Physical Requirements**
- Our production facility is cold. This is excellent for freshness and shelf-life. When you measure labour timings, yield and other aspects of our production, you will spend extended amounts of time in this environment.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
