**Job description and requirements**
- The
- **HACCP Coordinator** will be supporting the Quality and Continuous Improvement Team in ensuring products meet the quality standards and food safety requirements of TC Transcontinental Whitby and its customers. To proactively coordinate the fundamentals of GMP, HACCP and audit programs. This role will be assisting in the implementation, monitoring and follow-up of quality assurance strategies and programs in all aspects of the production process.**What you will do**
- Lead annual re-certification to BRC Global Standard
- Annually review the Hazard and risk management system, and prerequisite programs.
- Maintain and update GMP, HACCP, Prerequisite Programs, sanitation, preventative maintenance programs and BRC requirements as required.
- Lead food safety (CFIA, BRC, and customer) audits.
- Develop and write SOP's and policies for areas of responsibility to optimize quality, sanitation, and operations.
- Ensure all personnel are effectively trained to achieve satisfactory results in GMP, HACCP programs, and food safety.
- Conduct internal audits. Identify and implement corrective actions based on the audit results.
- Lead the HARA team and monitor GMP programs for compliance, including conducting a mock recall.
- Perform comprehensive plant audit reviews and provide recommendations for program enhancements to effect continuous improvement and food safety.
- Participate, in conjunction with the Quality Manager, third party audits and implement necessary program changes.
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct necessary employee and contractor HACCP training programs (i.e., GMP /HACCP, Allergen, Food Safety etc.).
- Complete testing requirements and submit COA’s to customers as required.
- Maintain and complete accurate records associated with GMP and HACCP activities; raise issues based on the data collected.
- Perform other duties/functions assigned or required by QA Manager.
**What you have to offer**
- You have a Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
- You have thorough knowledge of GMP, HACCP principles and BRC Global Standard
- Experience in food manufacturing or flexible packaging facility.
- HACCP certification, and BRC certification required.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in conducting Internal audit and implementation of HACCP systems.
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & SharePoint, with a passion for accuracy.
- You are able to work in a participative team environment.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, decision making skills and attention to details and accuracy of information.
- Ability to get things done with mínimal supervision and in a team environment.
