2025 Insurance, Winter Associate Product Owner

**Job Summary**

The Associate Product Owner (Intern/Coop Student) for RBC Insurance plays an important role for our team. We are currently redefining our digital product experience to emerge as an organization on the forefront of innovation and human-centered design. The Intern will assist our Product Owners. Our team is responsible for leading and / or supporting multiple agile teams to develop and deliver exceptional digital user experiences and this is an ideal opportunity to learn Product Management in a fast-paced environment.

**What will you do?**
- You will assist our Product Owner team to develop, design and refine a comprehensive and industry leading digital product experience, ensuring alignment with our business goals and user needs.
- Assist the team in Requirement gathering and sign off, ensuring we have well documented approval for our product features.
- Collaborate and liaise with key business partners and stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.
- Identify opportunities for improvement / innovation and differentiation in our digital product design.
- Inform the PrograM/Feature backlog, including non-functional requirements in collaboration with the product owners, such that it accelerates team learning, achieves expected outcomes and optimizes the value of the work performed.
- Assist the planning of the product backlog on an agile release train or the release backlog for a group of autonomous/dependent teams.
- Assist with evaluating business value achieved versus planned for the product to communicate to leadership & stakeholders.
- Help the change management team to co-lead the efforts to ensure adoption and buy-in for new product rollouts.

**What do you need to succeed?**

Must-have
- Working towards a Bachelor or Masters degree in Finance, Technology, Business Administration, Economics, or other related field
- Strong personal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Good analytical, communication and problem solving skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail

Nice-to-have
- Knowledge and an understanding of Insurance.
- Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Products, including Excel (including using Excel as a tool for financial analysis) Word, PowerPoint, Access
- Previous experience using Product Management tools such as JIRA, Mural, MIRO.
- Previous experience working with a Financial Institution

**Please note**:
In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
