Status - Temporary Full-Time - Temporary - Approximate length of assignment, in months - 4 - Type of Position - a Replacement - Start Date - Immediate - Salary - Per hour - Salary Grade - $40.93 - $44.48 - Department - York Region -> Public Works -> Finance & Performance - Location - 17250 Yonge Street, - Newmarket, ON L3Y 6Z1 CA (Primary) - Job Description (E) **ABOUT THE ROLE** This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the Department’s space and accommodation processes and providing project management support related to space accommodation and capital projects, monitoring applicable budgets, and the department contact for space and accommodation requirements in coordination with other business partners; conducts research and analysis to support various departmental program and project initiatives, where required. **WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING** - Collaborates with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function. - Provides space project management support including the assessment of department space and accommodation requirements, conceptualizing, work planning, resourcing and evaluating various project needs - Develops project plans and timelines, provides cost estimates and coordinates various cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives - Acts as the department lead and primary contact for departmental space activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders. - Works with departmental staff and management to understand project operational needs and objectives related to space. - Engages with branches on their accommodation and capital project initiatives during the budget planning process and works with management to determine future accommodation needs for each branch/division. - Plans for short-term accommodation planning and ensures alignment to the budget process to account for future growth. - Prepares communications to staff and management regarding project status updates. - Provides guidance and direction to staff as it relates to space and accommodation. - Consolidates financial information for budget processes related to office accommodation and capital projects. - Monitors operating and capital project budgets; reviews and reconciles invoices. - Develops and prepares financial reports related to space and move projects, as required. - Analyzes reports for the purpose of future space planning. - Responds to inquiries and requests for information from internal and external stakeholders, and resolves concerns, as appropriate - Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards. - Participates on committees, work groups, task forces and special projects, as assigned. - Manages information in accordance with legislation and corporate standards. - Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives. **WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR** - Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Architectural Technology, Interior Design or other related field, or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. - Minimum two (2) years related experience or equivalent accommodation planning experience with responsibilities for project coordination and monitoring. - Demonstrated ability in the Region’s core competencies. - Advanced skills in virtual platforms and MS Office Suite including the use of virtual platforms for conducting meetings and/or presentations; knowledge of AutoCAD or related program experience - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to connect with a range of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on fostering collaborative work relationships. - Demonstrated presentation, communication, and organizational skills. - Strong ability to develop relationships and work in a welcoming and inclusive environment, where diversity is celebrated and where everyone can develop to their full potential. - Ability to work independently and with teams and with ability to manage competing priorities. - Ability to travel to offsite locations, as required. - Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required. - Council Approval Date - Scheduled Weekly Hours - 35 - Scheduled Shifts - Operational Hours - Close Date - December 4, 2024 - # of Hires Needed - 1 - Union - CUPE 905 York Region - .
