Reporting to the General Manager, the Bar Manager contributes to the oversight of the front of house operations. This position is responsible for several functions including but not limited to: bar menu design including cocktail creation, and wine and draught beer selection, while providing exceptional customer service to all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, following all laws and regulations regarding liquor service, stocking the bar and cooler, setting up and taking down the bar completely, and preparing all the bar syrups, and garnishes. The Bar Manager will also deal with the coordination of sales, training, employee and guest service, opening and/or closing, and service where needed. The Bar Manager must have a consistent presence in the venue and ensure a positive company image is always maintained through client and employee interactions through consistent delivery of remarkable service.

We are independent owners of a new restaurant in the final stages of completing the construction of our brand new building in the Riversdale neighbourhood. We will look to use global inspiration to highlight the bounty of Saskatchewan’s farmers and producers. The space is a brand new build from the ground up, featuring all new bar equipment, as well as a mid-century modern design, and a focus on great food alongside craft cocktails and local beers.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Bar program design: assist with the cocktail creation, menu design including draught beer and wine selection, non-alcoholic options, and more
- Work with management to ensure that staff have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs (e.g., supplies, equipment, and inventory)
- Ensure that staff are trained on technical and service aspects of the job (e.g., drink education, customer service)
- Work with management to ensure that staff clearly understand their job roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
- Address guest concerns, requests, or issues either individually or by enlisting the help of others as required
- Act as a “bridge” between management and hourly staff to facilitate department operation (e.g., keep managers appraised of hourly staff activities, issues, challenges, etc.)
- Enforce compliance with all regulatory governing agencies (e.g., SLGA, safety, department-specific procedures such as food standards)
- Collaborate with management to recognize and celebrate hourly staff performance contributions
- Ensure every guest is handled with the highest level of professionalism and complaints are dealt with quickly and efficiently
- Adapt to different personalities of clients, vendors and coworkers
- Create, mix, pour, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the bar and restaurant guests.
- Consistently execute drink production principles and practices, ensuring that all recipes and practices are followed.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, while maintaining a personable and professional image representative of the restaurant’s values.
- Ensure all services and orders delivered within the bar operation are charged for correctly.
- Maintain effective cost and portion controls to meet cost % targets.
- Ensure all surfaces and equipment are kept clean and in excellent condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
- Assist in placing product orders and ensure fresh product through a detailed and updated order guide.
- Work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.

**WHAT YOU HAVE**
- Advanced knowledge and passion for craft cocktails, wine and beer.
- 1-3 years’ bartending experience is preferred.
- Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
