**Position Overview**

Circelli Steel Ltd. is a custom Metal fabricator proudly serving the London and greater Southwestern Ontario area for over 30 years. Our work is primarily in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) Construction Sectors. As contract fabricators we design, fabricate and install a host of miscellaneous and structural steel. We work closely with General Contractors, Architects and engineers to ensure a seamless transition from concept to production.

We are currently looking for a talented individual, with effective leadership qualities & attention to detail to join our team. This individual will be responsible for assisting in drafting steel fabrication drawings and quantity takeoff while reporting to our estimating &drafting department personnel. The above individual will get the opportunity to see the process in which projects are bid, awarded &managed through the construction phase with hands-on experience in the office and on the construction site. Main roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: full miscellaneous metal material take-offs for jobs varying in size from small office renovations to new build high rises, preparation of quotations for submission to general contractors and drafting misc. steel fabrication drawings. This position is office-based but applicants are expected to be comfortable working on and navigating around construction sites, well following all safety protocols and procedures as set out in the OHSA handbook. Training will be provided for any certificates that are required for working safely on site. Experience using On Screen Take-off/Bluebeam is considered as an asset.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Interpret Contract Drawings (Architectural, Structural and specs) in relation to our respective scope of work.

2. Produce Approval drawings to be reviewed by Consultants.

3. Produce Working Drawings: Erection, and detail fabrication drawings to be used by our forces.

4. Coordinate the issue and control of drafting related documents.

5. Provide material takeoffs for estimating purposes 6. Occasional site visits involving field measurements.

**Required Knowledge & Experience**
- Post-secondary education in Architectural or Engineering program.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural drawings and specifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience with strong drafting/modeling skills in AutoCAD, Tekla, or SDS2.
- Good understanding of OBC Part 3.
- Must be analytical, organized, detail orientated, and outstanding ability to multi-task.
- Experience with structural steel & misc. metal would be an asset.
- Willingness to learn and the desire to excel and thrive in a fast-paced workplace.
