We are seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team and support our construction projects. As a Junior Estimator, your role is to assist the Construction Estimator in developing cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing data and collecting pricing information. Your responsibilities also include overseeing the procurement of materials and ensuring that the purchase order process follows appropriate procedures. With a focus on cost control, your contributions will help to ensure that projects are completed within budget, ultimately contributing to the success and profitability of the project.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs
- Controlling costs to ensure they align with the Estimate including review of quotes in line with internal processes and the company objectives of price, quality and timelines
- Provide administrative support to the Construction Estimator
- Review plans and perform digital take-offs
- Ensure timely and accurate input of all estimating data into the company project software (BuilderTrend)
- Analyze project data and conduct research to identify potential cost savings
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing information
- Ordering of materials for construction and manage the tracking of ordering through proper purchase order processes
- Resolves variances between the Estimate and Actual cost by analyzing and collecting information
- Work in collaboration with Construction, Design and Accounting teams always striving to catch inefficiencies and improve profitability
- Work with new and current trades to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive

**Qualifications and Skills**
- College Diploma as a construction estimator or equivalent
- Previous experience in construction estimating
- Exceptional communication skills and negotiation abilities
- Minimum of 3 years experience in construction industry or related position
- Previous knowledge of residential construction procedures/practices would be an asset
- Must have a good understanding of construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and details
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel) and estimating software
- Well organized and reliable
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
