**MANA is seeking a Full-Time HSE Adminstrator to join our team.**

**Job purpose**

The HSE (Health & Safety, Environmental) Administrator will be accountable for driving safety initiatives, implementation and administration of safety and environmental policies and programs that support the business. They will also be responsible for communicating with managers to identify training needs - managing, designing, developing, and coordinating all training programs.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Develops and maintains a positive and proactive relationship with department management, front-line employees, and contractors.
- Collaborate with departments/divisions to determine health, safety, and environmental improvement opportunities.
- Actively seek opportunities and activities to reduce potential injury/accidents in the workplace.
- Review and follow up with supervisors to ensure timeliness of accident investigation and follow through on corrective action and root cause analysis.
- Identify hazardous conditions and initiate corrective action.
- Track and trend reporting incidents and calculate injury frequencies.
- Assist in conducting Pre-job safety instructions (PSI) and developing Job hazards’ analysis (JHA) and safe work procedures.
- Map out annual job training plans for standardized roles to ensure sustainability of training.
- Select appropriate training methods or activities to enhance training at the site (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes).
- Coordinate all Joint Health and Safety Committee activities, recommendations, and accountability issues identified by the JHSC, monthly safety inspections meetings.
- Maintaining the health and safety board, policy postings and yearly program review.
- Liaison with the Plant Engineer to ensure the completion of annual National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) reporting.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with all Hazardous Waste Information Network (HWIN) standards and responsibilities.
- Responsible for all WHIMIS activities.
- Aid in ensuring legislative compliance with all governing bodies.
- Responsible for environmental program management, including reporting of spills on company property.
- Update H&S related forms and materials as required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant and applicable regulation and legislation, including but not limited to waste storage, handling, and disposal.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures.
- Maintain and update all required safety metrics.
- Develop and maintain a Waste Stream Matrix report.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary Education in Health & Safety, Human Resources or equivalent.
- Completion or working towards Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) would be an asset.
- Proven ability to complete full cycle training (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate).
- 5-10 years related experience in health and safety and training requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation and regulations including waste management and waste disposal.
- Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a busy work environment
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
