**What you will be doing in the role of Health and Safety Specialist**:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Conduct on-site H&S equipment and worksite inspections as needed; maintain records
- Review incidents and lead root-cause analysis, following-up with internal parties as required
- Documentation: investigation reports, store and maintain site generated records, investigation checklists
- Liaise with various Health and Safety stakeholders including but not limited to, management, JHSC, employees, customers and suppliers
- Ensure Lakeside’s site Health and Safety program complies with legislative requirements, staying current regarding changes and updates to regulatory requirements
- Coordinate Health and Safety events and training sessions at Lakeside or on customer site
- Provide on-site Health and Safety training to staff, sub-contractors and customers as needed; ensure mandatory training is provided and recorded as required
- Schedule and conduct compliance plan and internal audits
- Identify opportunities to leverage Lakeside’s existing H&S processes to minimize risk and improve employee Health and Safety

**Knowledge and skills required for the role**:

- University Degree in Occupational Health and Safety OR University Degree with Post-Graduate studies in Health and Safety
- Seven to ten (7 - 10) years of experience in industrial site safety, accident investigation and hazard analysis, and/or policy development/safety program maintenance
- Knowledge of Employment Standards, Health and Safety and other applicable legislation
- Knowledge of health and safety issues and regulations
- Good analysis capacity and sound judgment skills with the ability to question existing procedures and protocol
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent computer knowledge
