The Anishinaabe Cultural Facilitator is a full-time permanent position. The Anishinaabe Cultural Facilitator acts as a primary resource to Management and staff to develop and enhance the bi-cultural service practice of the Agency. The Facilitator provides similar resources to collaborating social service agencies to facilitate consistent, culturally relevant service delivery. The Anishinaabe Cultural Facilitator ensures the hosting and resourcing by AAFS of regularly scheduled community cultural events to preserve and promote traditional practices within member First Nations, thereby enhancing positive and strong cultural identity.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Aligned with AAFS’s mission to protect Anishinaabe Abinoojii (Anishinaabe children) and support the healing, wellbeing, and strengthening of families through Abinoojii Inakonigewin, the Anishinaabe Cultural Facilitator will:

- Provide program and service delivery support, documentation, and reporting.
- Act as part of the AAFS Management Team to align programs with the organizational strategic plan.
- Facilitate community-based cultural events and ensure the integration of Indigenous knowledge and practices in service delivery.

**QUALIFICATION**
- Master of Social Work Degree with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in management of services for children and families, or comparable human service programs. A combination of skills, education, and experience may also be considered.
- Knowledge of Customary Care, local First Nations customs and traditions, and the philosophy of service development and delivery.
- Familiarity with the **Child, Youth and Family Services Act** and related regulations.
- Strong knowledge of the structure and operations of Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services, Grand Council Treaty #3, and First Nations in the Kenora area.
- Personal commitment to the Anishinaabe way of life and understanding of cultural and spiritual practices.
- Ability to influence and facilitate group decision-making processes and foster purposeful relationships with clients, staff, and community organizations.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Working knowledge and experience in a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite, and service-based systems
- Excellent time management with the ability to plan accordingly to flocculate project timelines and goals.
- Must possess a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License, be willing to travel and provide a Drivers Abstract; and
- Ability to speak Ojibway is considered a definite asset.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
The role is primarily based at the offices of AAFS, with occasional travel to communities and external events as needed. Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate cultural events and community engagements. The incumbent may encounter various stressors, including political, mental, and social stress, while addressing conflicts. It's important to manage these stressors effectively to maintain well-being and effectiveness in the role.

**Salary Range: $48,327 - 59,270 per annum**

**Benefits**: AAFS offers Extended Health, Dental, AD&D, and Group Life benefits to this position after one month of employment as well as voluntary participation in our Pension Program.
