Buyer / Sourcing Specialist

- We are looking for a professional experienced _**Buyer/Sourcing Specialist**
- **Expectations of the Role**:_
- Managing inventory effectively by maintaining sufficient inventory levels to maximize turn rates and uphold service level requirements.
- Preparing purchase orders and fax to our suppliers, regulating ordering controls under established guidelines.
- Reviewing daily order replenishment demand reports and selecting products for procurement. Studying and evaluating inventory reports and rectifying problem shipments or accounting issues.
- Confirming with vendors for ship dates and notifying appropriate departments. Arranging for the return of surplus inventory to suppliers. Expediting delivery of shipments. Maintaining vendor and product records.
- Working closely with several departments in the maintenance of inventory, product and vendor issues and import product orders. Collaborating with merchandising managers on new production introductions.
- Attending trainings on new products.
- Recognize any potential sales leads for repeat or large customer opportunities.
- Source unadvertised items requested through the use of various research tools including the internet, manufacture literature, and making direct phone calls to manufactures and internal departments.
- Organize and instruct trainings with internal customers to keep them abreast on product knowledge and current regulations.
- Prepare quotations accurately with ordering information to include pricing, availability, and ordering requirements with lead time.
- Make follow-up calls to customers regarding their quotations, answer product and service related questions and solicit feedback.
- Work closely with internal departments to share identified trends in product requests and potential product marketing opportunities and learn regional market trends.
- Continually keep up to date on products, OSHA regulations, technical data and changes in the industrial safety field through training sessions, hands-on training, reading and researching materials.
- Identify resources for “niche” product lines or services.
