**The Company**

**The Position**

Reporting to Manager, Operations & Engineering, the Manufacturing Associate is responsible for leading production & trials using the reactive twin screw extrusion process installed in our Center of Innovation. This position will lead the operation of our extrusion process, leading production & operation of our extrusion assets. Attention to quality, detail, & maintenance is key as well as all extrusion functions including developing, validating and implementing new equipment and techniques to develop the next generation of EcoSphere® biolatex®products. Together with a cross functional team, the Manufacturing Associate will develop and maintain ISO related documentation for processes and services throughout the organization.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate extrusion equipment as per production & trial schedule
- Responsible for equipment operation & timely preventative maintenance
- Loading and unloading trucks (raw materials and other shipments)
- Maintaining product samples, QC, & retain library
- Risk Assessment/Preventive Actions: Proactive identification of problems, and recommend improvement plans
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the setup of preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment
- Clean and maintain work area
- Adherence of lock-out & tag-out program of equipment when not in use.
- Maintain and support ISO documents as required
- Process waste management
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Conduct daily shipping and receiving duties
- Reconcile waybill, bill of lading with bill of materials and actual shipment arrivals
- Maintain the inventory management system (ERP) to ensure that actual physical inventory matches the database logical inventory
- Package finished product for shipping / storage (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
- Responsible for overall appearance and housekeeping of manufacturing, warehouse and loading dock area
- Manage recycling and waste disposal programs
- Communication: Maintain and improve two-way communication channels to improve effectiveness and overall productivity of the organization.
- Key Performance Indicators: Design and implement the KPI, reflecting performance of the following activities: productivity, quality, fill rate, project management, budget versus actual cost, continuous improvement initiative, quality audits/results
- Sundry duties as required or assignment by Management

**Job Requirements**
- High School Degree and / or College Diploma
- Exceptional problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills
- Strong leadership, project management & time management skills
- Passion for Cleantech/Biomaterials, and solid relationships with network of colleagues
- Ability to work in a dynamic work environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
- Manufacturing Process Design / Development
- Working Knowledge of ISO based quality processes
- Navigation of MRP / ERP and inventory control
- Lead and Manage various projects
- Problem Solving Skills
- Health/Safety and basic labour policies
- Self-motivated, professional, courteous, team player and reliable
- First Aid, CPR and WHMIS training
- Forklift operator certification
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
