About The Role

**Schedule**: Full time, permanent

**Position Reports To**: Director, Financial Management & Operations

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director, Financial Management & Operations, the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, will be responsible for assisting management with formulation and consolidation of both the short-term and long-term financial plans of the Company and for assuming a lead role in the forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes. The incumbent prepares the yearly budget and monthly forecast; maintains corporate model; provides financial analysis for the executive team. The incumbent also assists with preparation of New Gold’s financial and managerial reporting and prepares certain quarterly reporting and disclosure processes.

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will partner with New Gold’s finance teams to provide accurate and timely reporting to senior management and ad-hoc financial analysis for projects.

Key Responsibilities

Consolidation, compilation and analysis of budgets, forecasts, monthly/quarterly actual results
Prepare monthly consolidated reports for management reporting requirements
Prepare reports for quarterly and annual MD&A, press releases, and financial reporting
Monitor site generated reporting and perform analysis of financial and operational results to evaluate site/Company performance and provide analysis and recommendations to management.
Assist in preparation of business cases/models to support new investment, strategic and other business decisions.
Maintain a positive working relationship with other finance functions to understand monthly reporting and support accurate financial results and forecasts
Generate ad-hoc and value added financial analysis

**Qualifications**:
Mining industry experience required Financial planning and analysis experience preferred
A degree or equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting required, a Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred

Other Requirements

Frequent site travel will be required.
Proactive approach to analytical issues that require financial, operational, economic and statistical insight
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills, enabling successful collaboration with a cross-section of teams
Excellent analytical, organizational, and comprehension abilities as well as great attention to detail
Ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple priorities
Proficiency with MS Office, with in-depth knowledge of Excel, specifically data transformation and advanced pivot table skills
Experience with SAP and BPC consolidation software packages an asset
