In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $67,159 to $111,925, with a starting salary based on experience, up to a maximum of $86,745.

**Location -** Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of professionals as Lead, Sponsored Student Program.

The Sponsored Student Program (SSP) provides service and support to (a) international students who come to the University of Alberta with scholarships from their home countries, and (b) to the sponsoring agencies that provide those scholarships. The SSP unit is expected to contribute to the achievement of the University of Alberta's aggressive international enrolment targets by cultivating positive relations with international sponsors who will continue to send new sponsored students to the U of A year after year.

**Duties**

Partner Relations, Agreement Negotiation, and Recruitment
- Leads the identification and evaluation of new sponsoring organizations around the world and leads relations with them to explore whether/how to develop ongoing partnerships that result in sponsored student registrations in U of A programs.
- Manages agreement negotiations with new prospective sponsoring partner organizations, consulting with the Manager, International Relations Services and/or the Sr. International Agreements Administrator, as needed.
- Assesses risks to the U of A in entering new partnerships with sponsors, and develops mitigation plans and strategies as needed to prevent negative reputational or financial outcomes, and to ensure sponsored students are well supported at U of A.
- Works collaboratively with relevant parties to renew existing agreements between University of Alberta and sponsoring agencies to ensure University of Alberta commitments, including financial undertakings are achievable, and that University liability issues are addressed.
- Manages a complex network of U of A stakeholders and contacts to facilitate the efficient functioning of the SSP and to ensure service excellence for sponsors and sponsored students, and compliance with university requirements, policies, and regulations.
