**Position Summary**:
An Office Assistant is committed to achieving Doidge Building Centres Ltd.’s service standards by assisting customers on the sales floor and maintaining an effective payment schedule to vendors and our customers. The Office Clerk will calculate, prepare, and process bills and invoices for accounts payable and receivables.
**Location**:This position is in Fort Erie, Ontario.
**Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to**:
- Ensures maintenance of Doidge Building Centres Ltd.’s customer service standards; build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional, and contractor customers
- Calculate, prepare, and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems
- Reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements
- Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems
- Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Reconcile daily cash balances
- Cash/cheque deposit at bank
- Ensuring all receiving is completed with accuracy on amount received
**Qualifications**:
- 2 years’ experience in accounting preferred
- Understanding of financial statements (profit and loss)
- Experience in inventory receiving and inventory control preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills and basic math skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Flexible availability based on store needs (includes evenings and weekends)
- First aid trained an asset
