Operational Manager

**Position Summary**: The Operations Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible to ensure that operational procedures are being followed, new projects and/or initiatives are being executed in a timely and reasonable manner & that safe work practices are being followed. This position will supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination. This role will also analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement. The Operations Manager must possess ability to adapt to new technology and demonstrated project management skills.
**Responsibilities and Duties: (but not limited to)**
- Oversee the implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions for business needs;
- Oversee project management for IT-related undertakings, including clear capture of business requirements, provision of functional deliverables, milestone planning, and project post-mortem reports;
- Cultivate a work environment committed to the health, safety, and wellness of all employees;
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination;
- Analyze departmental operations and identify areas requiring improvement;
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work accordingly;
- Clearly Communicate and uphold strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals;
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards;
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and formal evaluations;
- Assist in handling customer complaints and comments as required;
- Work with HR to maintain shift schedules to ensure sufficient employee coverage;
- Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations, including using required PPE;
- Assist in planning warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization;
- Provide leadership for strategic business development and corporate planning issues on major business decisions;
- Help develop and implement both short
- and long-term tactical and strategic plans in accordance with business goals and objectives.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Demonstrated project management skills;
- Ability to adapt to new technology;
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports;
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems;
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations;
- A well defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills;

- Degree or diploma in a related field;
- Three years of experience in a management role and five years of experience in warehouse setting;
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
**Physical Demands & Working Conditions**:
- Operation of desktop computer and peripherals;
- Periodic requirement to be on-call;
- Attendance and conducting of presentations;
- Working in an office environment;
- Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions;
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 65 lbs;
