We have an exciting new opportunity as a **Technical Trainer** to support our Western Canada locations. If you would like to leverage your background in the heavy-duty truck service industry and have experience or the aptitude for instructing others, this is a unique opportunity you should consider This is a full-time permanent position with an industry leader that provides mechanical service to the trucking industry across Canada.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Assess training needs and develop teaching materials and lesson plans in a variety of formats.
- Adapt and develop training materials to create in-house curriculum for use in training employees.
- Supplement training materials with location and industry-specific content.
- Develop specifications, source and/or build and install components for mobile training facility.
- Deliver training using a variety of methods, including classroom, virtual, or hands-on. Conduct testing and evaluation to assess learning success.
- Assist technicians with exam preparation for apprenticeship programs.
- Participate in internal evaluation of technician skill levels and progress.

**Qualifications**:

- Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician, or equivalent, with at least five (5) years of hands-on experience in the trade. Current knowledge of trends and requirements of mechanical work.
- Certificate in Adult Education (completed or willing to pursue), along with some experience in classroom instruction and an understanding of the principles of adult education.
- Additional diploma or certificate in business administration, train-the-trainer or similar would be an asset.
- High level of interpersonal skills for communicating with people of all ages, learning styles and abilities.
- Comprehensive PC skills, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Experience using e-learning tools and able to deliver teaching material remotely.
- Completed or ready to train in safety-related aspects (e.g., WHMIS, TDG, forklift).
- Travel to Western Canada locations will be required.
