The Health and Safety Coordinator develops, administers, and implements occupational safety programs, and coordinates the JHSC. The Health and Safety Coordinator plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates occupational safety programs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations, maintain awareness of amendments to the OHSA and make recommendations for their implementation, as needed.
- Coordinate the Joint Health and Safety Committee, including meeting minutes, inspections, etc.
- Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate occupational safety programs.
- Responsible for safety orientation and safety training and maintaining up to date training records.
- Research, plan, organize and schedule/conduct training programs/seminars for MVA Stratford Inc. employees.
- Perform job hazard assessments, as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety program by all MVA Stratford Inc. employees and subcontractors.
- Write safety work instructions for H&S processes and procedures.
- Develop and implement safety programs by inspecting or reviewing areas, equipment, processes, and work activities for hazardous conditions.
- Conduct accident and injury inspections and investigations.
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of accident/injury reporting.
- Manage all WSIB claims and return to work and modified work plans.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's or college degree in a related field.
- JHSC certification training is considered a strong asset.
- 1 or more years experience in occupational health and safety in an industrial establishment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starting individual with an attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives

**Shifts**
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Day shift, Monday-Friday
