Freelance Video Editor

I'm looking for an experienced video editor to help me deal with the volume of clients I've been receiving. I've been mainly delivering raw footage to clients because I don't have the bandwidth for editing at the moment, so it would benefit my business to team up with an editor that is able to work with the files I shoot and deliver high-quality videos to the clients I work with.

I would be able to negotiate prices with the client for each project, based on your rates. It would likely be a flat rate per project (the exact number would depend on the scope of the video, its length, whether graphics/overlays are required, and the overall difficulty of the colour grading/cutting).

The rates you would receive would depend on what you think you would be able to complete each project for. I'm interested in pairing with an editor and forming a working relationship where I pass potential jobs their way. You wouldn't be an employee of mine. You would be an independent contractor that I work with whom I contact for jobs that require editing.

Some requirements for the role:

- Preference will be given to those living near Vancouver, B.C., Canada. It would be easier to work together and transfer files if we could occasionally meet in person. Not opposed to working remotely though if you're the right fit.
- A solid portfolio displaying your editing ability. I would like to see professional cuts and clean colour grading.
- An ability to work efficiently with SLOG-3 from the a7 SIII, and Prores RAW from the Inspire 2 X7. I'd like to see experience working with a variety of different file types.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to take feedback and implement it on the next version.
- A healthy attitude towards revisions. I would like to work with someone who's goal is to create a video that the client is happy with. I would set a limit to revisions in contracts, and if further revisions are necessary I would negotiate further payment. It is important to me though that the editor I hire is able to take feedback without becoming offended or attached to the versions that they deliver to me or the client.
- Professionalism and an ability to deliver videos in a timely manner.
- Experience working with professional editing software (i.e. Final Cut Pro X, Premeire Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, etc.).
- A computer that is able to handle 4K 10 Bit Prores 422 footage, h.265 compression, or RAW footage from my drone (i.e. Prores RAW & Cinema DNG).
- A workflow that is efficient and professional.
- Some method of delivering files remotely without compressing the video (i.e. Wetransfer).
- Experience working with graphics, overlays, and animations.
- Lastly, I'm looking for that intangible flair that I find hard to describe. I know it when I see it I'd like to work with someone that is confident in their skills, knows their style, and is able to deliver me something that feels like a coherent and completed project.
