Reporting directly to the Plant manager, the Maintenance manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the facility. This key role leads a team of maintenance technicians in assuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and quality within our production environment. Working closely with corporate technical resources, this individual assumes a leadership role by offering guidance and technical expertise to technicians, ensuring their active participation and ongoing professional development.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Promote a culture of occupational health and safety within the company by supporting and training maintenance personnel;
- Coach, support and evaluate the maintenance team in the achievement of their annual objectives and in the execution of their daily tasks;
- Work with team leaders, the maintenance planner and the shopper to coordinate priorities and improve response times for daily activities;
- Systematically communicate performance issues to team members and management;
- Participate in the development of the maintenance budget and ensure that financial resources are used effectively to achieve objectives;
- Identify and prioritize major maintenance issues with production. Initiate and develop action plans to resolve these issues in collaboration with line production managers;
- Work closely with the engineering to implement improvement projects according to set deadlines;
- Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices, chemical management (food vs. non-food) and management of high-risk maintenance work;
- Promote a positive work environment through communication and teamwork.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or a related Engineering field or equivalent work experience;
- Have 8 + years of relevant experience combining technical and management experience, preferably in a food manufacturing / fast pace environment;
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
- Excellent people management skills, strong ethics and results orientation;
- Good knowledge of the English language;
- Computer skills: SAP (asset) & Microsoft Office.
