Job Description:
3M is seeking a Supervisor for its Site Maintenance team, located in Brockville, ON.
- _Successful security clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration program is a mandatory pre-requirement for this position at this location. Please note the following are _some (but not all) _of the listed requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance:_
- _ Must be a Canadian citizen normally residing in Canada, or must be a Permanent Resident normally residing in Canada_
- _ Must have valid and current identification (i.e.: driver’s license, passport, birth certificate)_
- _ Must be able to provide a residential address and employment history of the past 5 years_
- _ If applicable, living outside of Canada during the past five years will require an international criminal name check_
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with other departments to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of plant equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, working closely with the engineering team to implement solutions.
- Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory management.
- Evaluate and recommend new maintenance tools, equipment, and technologies to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
Your skills and expertise
To set you up for success in this role from Day 1, 3M requires (at minimum) the following qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- One (1) year of team lead and/or supervisory experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Five (5) years or more of maintenance experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
- Five (5) years combined engineering process, technology or manufacturing experience
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
