- The Crime Stoppers Program provides an avenue for citizens to remain anonymous when passing on information about crime and criminal activity in their communities. The Civilian Coordinator connects the public and the police by reviewing and conducting analysis of tip information in order to determine where and who should receive this intelligence. Specific duties include:
- Manage the Crime Stoppers Unit¿s informant database, including updating the status of an investigation and/or tip with information received.
- Collaborate with District Crime and Intelligence Analysts, District Staff Sergeants, and primary investigators of unsolved file in order to determine what can be released to the public.
- Compose a weekly media package and upload to the Crime Stoppers website.
- Receive and evaluate informant information provided to the Crime Stoppers Unit by conducting research and analysis utilizing various police information systems.
- Disseminate and communicate informant intelligence to appropriate units, external law enforcement agencies and other Crime Stoppers agencies world-wide for further follow-up/investigation without jeopardizing the integrity of the investigation and ensuring the safety of the informant.
- Respond to research requests and inquiries by providing knowledge and expertise about the program and its policies and procedures.
**Qualifications**
- A high school diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED), related police training courses such as criminal investigation, source handling, etc., and 5 years of related police experience including investigative experience.
- Working knowledge of the justice system, the Criminal Code, and police operations is required.
- Experience with report writing is required.
- The successful applicant will be competent in communication, efficiency and thoroughness, focus on results, relationship building, service orientation, stress tolerance, team building and teamwork.
**Pre-employment Requirements**
- An enhanced security clearance and pre-employment polygraph will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

- Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $35.51 - 47.49 per hour
- Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
