**Responsibilities**:
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provides leadership and oversight to the Fleet Business Support Department. Provides business process development support to all garages, including aspects of business operational planning, business analytics, budgeting, financial forecasting, costing, business case development, quality assurance initiatives, general business advisory duties, and administration support to all areas of the Maintenance Division.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Works with and provides guidance to other Maintenance Managers and Directors to assist in the translation and coordination of divisional goals into strategic and tactical plans for all areas of accountability, with an emphasis on continuously improving garage efficiencies, compliance to work order standards, and effective budget management. Makes recommendations based on complex data and business analyses and assists in business plan formulations for the Maintenance division.
Provides guidance and advisory support in the form of recommendations to Directors and Managers via the use of detailed analyses of complex business data that will drive the development of corporate and departmental objectives, and individual garage business plans.
Assists in the development and delivery of operational metrics and KPIs required to measure business performance and effectiveness for the division. Recommends strategies to address performance gaps.
Manages the budget development of the annual work plan for all maintenance garage locations.
Collaborates with directors and managers to better understand specific business needs, and performance issues, maps out business process and makes recommendations and identifies opportunities for improving existing business processes.
Provides guidance and management of all audit and compliance functions for Fleet Maintenance through the Quality Assurance team, reporting on any noncompliance with respective directors and managers.
Manages the front-line support of the asset management system (EAM) and various other Maintenance-related systems and reporting tools.
Manages reporting staff, including selection, development, coaching, managing performance, assigning/ reviewing work, and all other people management practices.
**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The competencies for this position would be acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field plus seven (7) years directly related experience in budgeting and financial forecasting, business process development and improvements, work order management, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) management, and staff management within a maintenance environment typically found in the Transportation or Fleet or Manufacturing industry.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Strong business acumen and technical knowledge, with the ability to understand current and future business requirements, evaluate financial impacts and provide recommendations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage projects and processes cross functionally and work collaboratively within a large organization.
Strong interpersonal, and relationship management skills
Excellent analytical thinking, technical analysis, and data manipulation skills.
Strong leadership skills, including team building, conflict resolution, and management.
Highly motivated with the ability to consistently seek out improvements to current processes to achieve operational efficiency.
Advanced analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Excellent knowledge of standard office software including word processing and spreadsheets, web-based and data management systems.
EAM and or SAP experience would be an asset.
MBA would be an asset.
