Are you a skilled Furniture & Appliance Delivery Associate looking to step into a leadership role? Docker Transport is in search of a Local Delivery Associate Lead to join our team and take charge of operations in the Okanagan region. This role requires someone who not only excels in performing the Delivery Associate position at a high level but also possesses the potential or experience to lead a team effectively.
**Key Delivery Associate Responsibilities**:
- Operate a commercial 5-ton truck, ensuring adherence to National Safety Code standards.
- Collaborate with a team of Delivery Associates to perform retail, commercial, and multi-family deliveries.
- Utilize provided tools for team lifting, securing loads, and ensuring damage-free deliveries.
- Complete pre and post-trip inspections, report vehicle maintenance issues, and adhere to health and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatchers.
- Utilize dollies, straps, suction cups, and lifting tools to ensure safe and efficient deliveries.
**Requirements for the Delivery Associate Position**:
- Verifiable commercial driving experience in 5-ton truck or similar.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
- Qualifying commercial driver’s abstract.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 to 100lbs with safe heavy item lifting techniques.
- Experience in operating basic hand and power tools.
- Basic personal protective equipment (PPE): Steel toe work shoes (6-inch ankle), hard hat, hi-vis vest.
- Verifiable commercial driving experience.
**Key Delivery Lead Responsibilities**:
- _**Excel**_ in the Delivery Associate position, performing the Delivery Associate position for a minimum of 4 shifts per week, completing delivery runs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for local field delivery teams.
- Collaborate with the BC Operations Manager to promote safe and efficient operations.
- Establish and implement safe work procedures within local delivery teams.
- Address workplace concerns and safety violations promptly.
- Provide regular operational reports to the BC Operations Manager.
- Liaise with Docker Operations team to approve the weekly work schedule for all local delivery teams.
- Conduct new hire orientation activities for local delivery employees and subcontractors.
- Submit regular reporting of all equipment, tools, and trucks and promptly report any defects.
**Requirements for the Local Delivery Lead Position**:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and Clean Drivers Abstract.
- 1 - 4 years of commercial-truck last-mile delivery experience.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven track record of adaptability to respond to changing work conditions and client requests.
- Keen eye for identifying workplace hazards.
- Deep care for ensuring team members are properly supported.
- Strong work ethic with a focus on improving processes.

**Salary**: $4,375.00-$5,300.00 per month
