Are you passionate about paddling, adventure, and community engagement? This is your chance to travel across British Columbia, working alongside Indigenous communities and local paddling clubs to deliver high-quality, entry-level canoe kayak programs—including recreational canoe-kayak, surfski and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP)

As a **Program & Events Coordinator** with Canoe Kayak BC (CKBC), you’ll play a key role in bringing paddling opportunities to communities across the province. Whether you're coaching on the water, organizing events, or leading grassroots paddling programs, this role is perfect for someone who loves sport, travel, and making a difference.

**What You’ll Do: Program & Coaching Duties**
- Work hands-on with Indigenous communities and local paddling clubs to introduce new paddlers to the sport.
- Lead and assist with on-water coaching and instruction across multiple paddling disciplines, including canoe, kayak, surfski, and SUP.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all participants.
- Support the delivery of Canoe Kids and Community Outreach programs to inspire the next generation of paddlers.

**Event Management & Administration**
- Assist in planning and executing CKBC events—from logistics to on-site event coordination.
- Set up and manage event equipment, ensuring smooth operations for athletes, officials, and volunteers.
- Oversee event communications, including social media updates, newsletters, and outreach materials.
- Maintain and manage event materials, ensuring each event runs efficiently.

**What We’re Looking For: Must-Haves**
- Passion for paddling, community engagement, and sport development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada under the Canada Summer Jobs program (ages 15-30).
- Willingness to travel throughout BC and work evenings/weekends as required.
- Clear Criminal Record Check & Safe Sport Certification.

**Bonus Skills (An Asset, but Not Required)**
- Canoe Kids/Community Outreach Coach Certification (can be completed as part of the role)
- Trailer towing experience.
- Pleasure Craft Operator Certification (for motorized safety boats).
- Event planning or logístical experience.
- Experience coaching multi-disciplinary paddle sports.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 16 weeks

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
