TO Live has an exciting full-time opportunity in its Patron & Event Services in the role of Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Services.
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Food & Beverage Services or their designate, the Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Services will work closely with the management team, aiding in the department's day-to-day operations.
A wide range of abilities and expertise are needed for the Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Services role, including operational success in a high-volume environment, a great service track record, events knowledge, and team leadership.
In addition to demonstrating best practices in guest service, staff management, and operations, the ideal applicant will have managerial experience from a comparable setting.
**ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Act as a liaison between management and frontline employees.
- Maintain a positive staff working environment, including evaluating department needs and recommending goals and action plans.
- Attend site tours and client meetings as required.
- Update event information in EBMS (Event Business Management Software) and complete departmental service and purchase orders as required.
- Assist with event advancement and execution when required.
- Assist in the coordination of event riders.
- Administer F&B software systems, including Point of Sale, and Inventory.
- Responsible for reporting and close monitoring of daily F&B sales, and other KPI's
- Participate as a key member of the Patron and Event Services Management Team and perform the duties of a duty manager when needed.
- Special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
**PURCHASING AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT**
- Responsible for ordering stock/product for all FOH areas at TO Live facilities.
- Work with events team to determine purchasing needs for events.
- Effectively monitor and maintain stock levels and ensure that all stock is secured.
- Ensure that stock is rotated and that all wastage is accounted for.
- Audit inventory counts and make appropriate corrections after each event to balance sales variances.
- Ensure inventory software is kept up to date including deliveries and product movement.
- Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
- Ensure inventory is taken prior to and at the conclusion of each event.
**CASH HANDLING**
- Ensure adherence to cash management procedures.
- Audit deposits after each performance shift.
- Prepare change orders as required.
- Collate daily deposits for collection by finance.
- Prepare reports as required.
**BARS AND CONCESSIONS OPERATIONS**
- Ensure that the F&B team is customer focussed, and that a culture of exceptional customer service and engagement prevails.
- Lead and direct the work of the porter including hiring, training, and supervising.
- Ensure the concessions run smoothly & are adequately stocked with all necessary goods.
- In accordance with health and safety guidelines, ensure the stands are kept in sanitary condition before, during and after an event.
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**
- Smart Serve Certified.
- Foodsafe certification
- Minimum of 4 years experience in the hospitality industry, with an emphasis on food and beverages management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Explorer & Outlook in a Windows operating environment.
- Ability to communicate with employees and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to multi-task and organize.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift.
- Must be familiar with working in a union environment and aware of the working conditions in the Collective Bargaining agreement.
- Variable hours of work depending on performance and event schedules
- Travel between TO Live venues as required.
