The QA Specialist will promote quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success of the Quality Program.
Your role will include dimensional and visual inspections of parts, components, shipments and special processes, verifying specifications against drawings and documentation using a variety of measuring equipment. Calibration of Metrology tools and equipment and Development and implementation of SOP pertaining to shop processes.
**Responsibilities**
- Experience in a Machine Shop Environment
- Assist the quality team in the development, implementation & maintenance of Quality Management Systems as per ISO 9001, API Q2
- Coordinate with the production teams and leaders in the development of work procedures
- Assist the quality team with the internal & external audits as per industry standards
- Utilize AutoCAD software to create and modify technical drawings, and to analyze and optimize maintenance workflows
- Support the production team in the investigation of product nonconformities to eliminate the cause of deviations in a corrective action format
- Ensure all quality records are being maintained and updated on a regular basis
- Support the production team for continual improvement
- Experience in a Metrology Lab
- Lead continuous improvement projects, utilizing Lean Tools and Methodologies
- Audit, Generate/coordinate sub-contracted products and processes
- Audit, perform, and record in-process, first-off, inspections at all stations to established internal or customer standards.
- Audit, generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and review for trends and opportunities for improvement
- Audit/ensure all measuring instruments are sound and calibrated to established internal/documented standards.
Develop written work practices, implement, and train others and implement
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality control role, preferably in an industrial maintenance or similar environment
- Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software, with the ability to create and modify technical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of quality control processes and procedures, including root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Able to understand engineering drawings
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of performance measurement methods and statistical analysis
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a demanding environment
- Ability to analyze problems/opportunities for efficiencies and make recommendations for improvements
