If you are someone who is organized, can multitask and have excellent communication, the IT financial Coordinator role may be the role for you to kickstart your finance career. You will need to have basic accounting knowledge such as prepaid, depreciation, fixed asset, accruals, etc. As the Financial Coordinator supporting the IT team, you will validate, process, collect and summarize financial information related to technology purchases and contracts in support of IT operating expenses, budget and initiatives while reporting to the Director, IT. Finance and Governance. This role is hybrid within the GTA or Kingston.
**What you’ll be working on**:
- Validate and process invoices and purchase requisitions according to due dates, contractual terms and accounting policies- Maintain vendor and contract management data and files- Respond to requests and inquiries from internal business partners and external parties- Assist with month and year end activities, including financial dashboards and accruals- Support the design and implementation of process improvements- Other duties as assigned, including special projects
**What you’ll need to have**:
- Completion of a community college diploma with courses in business and accounting or equivalent experience- 2-3 years work experience in technology and financial disciplines- General ledger and accounts payable experience- Strong working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software- Experience with vendor and contract management- Ability to organize and attention to detail/accuracy- Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems- Well-developed communication skills- Ability to work independently and as a team member
**It would be nice for you to have**:
- Internal controls experience- Financial modeling- Experience supporting IT department
