**OPERATIONS COORDINATOR ROLE**

The Office Coordinator is a multi-faceted position that is integral to running our organization, ensuring we maintain good workflow, a great working environment, strong communications, and professional administration. This role will support two organizations, one for-profit, and one non-profit entity. Both organizations are dedicated to advancing the green economy and sustainability. Our priority is to find an individual who can support the management of our internal operations, bookkeeping, and administration. We are looking for an individual with 2+ years of experience in operations and office management.

**GENERAL OFFICE DUTIES**
- Digital systems: oversee software selection and management, IT, set up computers for new employees, keep passwords up to date
- Event planning & coordinating
- Administration of employee onboarding/offboarding
- Support justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) initiatives
- Internal systems management: employee handbook, internal policies, benefits program for employees
- Support grant writing and reporting
- General office support: manage orders and purchases, pick up office supplies, oversee contractors (cleaners, catering, etc), office configuration and set up
- General Bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly bank reconciliation, monthly and quarterly tax filings
- Board Relations (Synergy Foundation)

**SKILLS & COMPETENCIES**
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Well organized and high attention to detail
- Self-motivator and good with time management
- Proficient at Microsoft Office

- 2+ years’ experience in bookkeeping, office administration, office management or another related role

**BENEFITS**

**Extended Health & Dental - **Health and dental benefits (including life insurance) are available to staff after completing six months of employment. Synergy will cover 70% of the cost, while the employee covers 30% (retained from paycheque). Additional information upon request.

**Unlimited Vacation - **Additional time off requests (un-paid) is unlimited. To respect project work timelines, discuss extended vacation requests at least 2-3 months in advance. This will allow us to plan for reduced capacity within the team during this time.

**Paid Volunteering - **Volunteering for a cause that is outside of our core work, but still mission-aligned and supporting our network of businesses is encouraged. Every calendar year full-time employees are permitted to spend a two hours each quarter volunteering for a cause that is focused on sustainability or environmental conservation

**Wellness Days - **Each full-time staff is entitled to five paid wellness/sick days per year. These may be used at the team member’s personal discretion and do not roll over to the next year. These are not meant to be used as additional holidays.

Wellness days are more of an insurance policy. These can be used to avoid burnout or to book healthcare appointments. The spirit of this policy is to have a
