Learn more about our telework guidelines click here Position Purpose **In this role, your responsibilities will include**: **Customer service**: Provides comprehensive service to all University of Ottawa employees by working closely with faculties and services, as well as HR and payroll employees, to ensure that activities related to staff transfers and hiring run smoothly. Supports the information officer at the customer service counter in solving more complex, pay-related issues in order to provide high-quality service to employees who report in person. **Information management**: Analyzes and processes the personal, confidential information of University employees. Detects anomalies in the data, and follows up with those responsible, to keep the various HR databases and information systems updated. Checks the information submitted or produced by the faculties and services, and follows up as required to maintain the quality of the information received. Assists in updating the system by conducting tests according to the established plan, and adds new scenarios to this plan as needed. **Project administration**: Manages all phases of the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) process, and maintains the related databases to ensure the integrity of the data during daily operations and when producing reports. **Electronic correspondence**: Manages the customer feedback management system and acts as the resource person within the HR team for questions on using this system. Registers all interactions with clients in the system to ensure that the necessary follow-up is conducted and that statistical reports are produced to improve customer service. **Management of online communications**: Updates information about the payroll sector and InfoHR on the website. **What you will bring**: Knowledge of payroll administration and customer service normally acquired through a post-secondary program or relevant experience. Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is an asset. In-depth knowledge of an integrated payroll system In-depth knowledge of federal and provincial laws, employment standards, immigration requirements, and other regulations related to payroll and compensation At least three years’ experience working in a complex payroll environment in a large, preferably unionized, organization Experience in analyzing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures Knowledge of accepted HR principles and management practices Knowledge of work in various aspects of HR Experience in using HR management systems and customer feedback management software Experience in preparing, analyzing and interpreting reports Organizational skill and attention to detail Self-reliance and good judgment Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written) Key Competencies **Key competencies required at the University of Ottawa**: **Planning**: Organize in time a series of actions or events in order to achieve an objective or a project.
