Working closely with various teams, the role involves performing accurate data entry into human resource systems to ensure accurate payroll processing and benefits administration, while maintaining up to date on compensation regulations and changes.Key responsibilities:Provide specialized advice: Support employees, managers, and executives with expert guidance on compensation and benefits entitlements, based on collective agreements and internal policies.Manage and update employee records: Maintain accurate data within ERP systems, Phoenix, and other databases, reflecting employment changes such as appointments, terminations, salary adjustments, or temporary assignments.Oversee payroll administration: Process bi-weekly payroll, make necessary adjustments, and investigate complex discrepancies to ensure data accuracy and integrity.Contribute to project implementation: Assist in major projects like the migration to new systems (e.g., Oracle ERP), collaborating with stakeholders and participating in testing and integration phases.Coordinate and advise on benefits programs: Work with health and safety (OHS) and labor relations (LR) partners to manage leave cases and other benefits, providing employees with guidance on their options and related implications.Work environmentThe Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. It has its own classification, compensation system, and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.
