**_Salary: $70,000-$80,000 annual + paid overtime (earning potential up to $85,000)_**

**_Shift: Tuesday to Saturday 06:00 to 15:00_**

**Position Purpose**:

- To ensure accurate, effective, and responsible planning and coordinating of drivers, pickups, deliveries, and equipment maintenance.
- Provide strong leadership, direction, instructions and guidance to the dispatchers, drivers and yard coordinators as needed.
- Lead the Dispatch, on day-to-day operations in the absence of the Terminal Manager, Calgary.
- Accurately and rapidly resolve issues to help mitigate delays.
- Delegate day-to-day dispatch responsibilities as necessary to dispatchers, drivers, and yard coordinators.
- Ensure all equipment is being used effectively
- Clear communications with drivers, staff, and customers to ensure on time delivery’s
- Keep organized and accurate records relating to overall dispatch and routing responsibilities
- Perform emergency dispatch duties during high volume call times and staffing shortages.
- Performing other duties as assigned from time to time by the Terminal Manager, Calgary.
- Follow and enforce all procedures including Progressive Discipline for Drivers as required.
- Contribute to all improvements i.e., processes, procedures, and policies.

**Qualifications**:
**Knowledge**
- Working knowledge in the transportation industry
- Knowledge of Local and North American geography

**Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
- Exceptional leadership, coaching and teamwork skills
- Ability to listen, speak and communicate effectively, often in some state of distress.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong ability to multitask
- Strong command of English, verbal and written

**Other Requirements**
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
- Ability to provide after hours and weekend support when necessary
- Reliable transportation
