Position Summary

Responsible for working with and leading the day-to-day activities of the Dispatch Team to effectively implement transportation services to customers. While also ensuring that all activities are accurately recorded in the company’s transportation management system.

- Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days

What you will do

- Able to lead a team of 4-5 dispatchers and 20 drivers

- Able to supervise and coach a wide range of personalities.

- Plan, organize routes and prioritize orders to meet customers needs, as well as maintain productivity and efficiency levels.

- Work closely with the rest of the operations teams to ensure KPI's are being met.

- Be responsible for the daily schedule, assign routes & equipment to drivers.

- Prepare and send out daily reports and ensure information is accurate.

- Be a problem solver with the ability to think fast with a solutions-based mindset.

- Collaborate with dispatch team, sales team, and customers to facilitate successful and on-time service of pick-ups and deliveries.

- Communicate with drivers to meet deadlines and solve last minute issues to achieve and maintain high level of service with compliance of company’s safety plan, policies, and procedures.

- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes.

- Data entry to ensure information accuracy in company’s dispatch system.

- Particip in leadership meetings and provide input & opinions.

- Comply with all employment and health & safety policies and procedures as required.

- Other duties as required.

What you'll bring

- 3 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced operations environment

- High school diploma

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and resolve conflicts

- Have a proven track record of holding drivers & direct reports accountable.

- Experience with supervising dispatchers and drivers.

- Must have experience in a live dispatching environment.

- Highly organized, quick thinker who can manage time-sensitive decisions in a fast-paced, performance-driven work environment.

- Energetic person who delivers personalized service, works well with diverse personalities, values, and understands company-customer relationship is very important.

- Able to work independently with minimal supervison

- Transportation industry experience
