**Key Responsibilities**:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent will manage and oversee the following aspects of the Human Resources department:
- **Human Capital Development**:
- Design and implement strategic programs to develop talent at all levels of the organization.
- Lead initiatives that enhance employee skills, competencies, and career growth through effective training and development programs.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify key learning and development needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- **Training & Development**:
- Oversee the creation and delivery of training programs tailored to individual and organizational needs.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of training initiatives and make data-driven improvements to ensure continuous learning and skill enhancement.
- Develop leadership development programs to nurture existing and emerging leaders within the organization.
- Partner with key departments to establish appropriate internal change communications strategies and lead these initiatives from concept through to execution.
- **Recognition & Rewards Programs**:
- Design and implement innovative recognition and rewards programs to motivate employees, promote a positive workplace, and drive performance.
- Ensure that reward systems are fair, transparent, and aligned with both individual and team contributions.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and make necessary adjustments to support a culture of appreciation and recognition.
- **Workplace Safety Standards**:
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Coordinate safety training programs to educate employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
- Stay updated on industry-specific safety standards and incorporate them into organizational policies.
- **Culture & Employee Engagement**:
- Lead initiatives to improve organizational culture, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure that HR strategies are aligned with the company’s mission, vision, values and business objectives.
- Conduct employee engagement surveys and use the results to implement initiatives that drive employee satisfaction and retention.
- **Performance Management**:
- Oversee the performance review process, ensuring that employees receive timely and constructive feedback.
- Work with managers to address performance issues and identify solutions to improve employee productivity and engagement.
- **Compliance & HR Policies**:
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment laws and regulations while developing HR policies that reflect best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Lead and oversee various aspects of the Human Resources department including but not limited to recruitment, selection, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, compensation, and benefits administration.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned by the General Manager.
**Qualifications**:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial psychology, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of extensive human resources management experience.
- Proven experience in human capital development, with a strong focus on training, development, recognition, and rewards programs and workplace safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to improve organizational culture and employee engagement through onboarding, training and development programs.
- Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Ability to think strategically and align HR initiatives with business objectives.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Strong background in psychological principles related to employee behavior, motivation, and organizational culture.
- Experience with workplace safety compliance and implementing best practices.
- Experience with change management and fostering a continuous improvement mindset.
