Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA - Remote and Home-Based) with Foundations Speech & Language Services - Victoria, BC
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. This unique position offers the flexibility of remote work and the opportunity to provide in-home services to clients.
This position would be ideal for behavioural interventionists, teachers and/or educational assistants, or those looking to eventually go into a program for Speech-Language Pathology.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Deliver in-office or in-home speech therapy services to pediatric clients, ensuring a comfortable and effective therapeutic environment.
2. Provide virtual speech therapy sessions to pediatric clients (anywhere from 18 months to 18 years old).
3. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver individualized treatment plans for clients.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes.
5. Provide guidance and support to clients' families to ensure effective carryover of therapy goals in the home environment.
Qualifications:
1. Experience working with kids (experience working with clients with ASD is an added bonus).
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work independently and follow a schedule.
4. Access to a reliable vehicle for home visits.
5. Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and technology.
6. Personality traits including punctuality, reliability, playfulness, self-awareness, and determination.
