Business Development Manager - Defense & Security

**About the position**

The Defence and Security BD Manager is responsible for growing the business with Defenceand Security agencies and industries by developing capture strategies that align with Apart from closing sales, they are responsible for maintaining relationships with existing and past customers, following up with prospective customers, and supporting the product development team by identifying future operational requirements.

You will have a demonstrated track record, with an extensive background in defence and security sales and a solid understanding of maritime or naval surveillance or C4ISR systems and Canadian ITB policy. You will be required to foster existing customer relationships and create opportunities for expansion within client accounts including as Canadian and International customers as well as leading maritime defence and security prime contractors.

**Key Responsibilties**:

- Act as the primary point of contact to the customer, with a specific focus on the assigned business.
- Develop opportunities with exisiting and new customers
- Lead engagements with potential customers to define the product configuration requirements
- Support International Capture Strategies
- Think strategically to develop new business solutions and successfully influence outcomes
- Proven experience dealing with the Canadian Government procurement and RFQ/RFP processes
- Work intensively to increase and improve product awareness by building and maintaining relationships with prospects and customers
- Preparing and conducting customer visits, calls, presentations and negotiations
- Liasing with operations on pricing/RFQ/RFP preparation and contracts
- Input and timely update of account activities utilizing Sales Force system
- Ensures proper transitioning of customer to operations in line with customer requirements
- Participate in and support international conferences and trade shows

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of experience in business development management in a technology environment and / or 15 Years + of military experience
- Background in Naval Combat Systems, maritime surveillance or C4ISR
- A strong, energectic presence
- Must have strong customer relationship skills
- Able to work in a team in diverse / multiple stakeholder environment
- Must be fluent in English (written and oral), additional languages an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- The ability to work in a team in a diverse / multiple stakeholder environment
