Bredin Centre for Career Advancement supports Albertans to connect to meaningful employment through the provision of employment preparation, industry prerequisite training, and connection to employers. Through a process of skill analysis, personal and professional development activities, and connection to industry representatives and employers, unemployed Albertans will be supported in developing an employment timeline that suits their individual circumstances.

As a Career Coach and Employment Specialist, you will provide professional client-centered service to assist clients in achieving their employment goals. Reporting to the Program Manager, your key responsibilities will be to work collaboratively to determine a client’s service needs and to develop an achievable occupational plan for rapid reattachment to employment or a plan which includes skill development interventions to address skill gaps depending on the client's needs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conducting comprehensive service needs determinations and employment-related assessments to develop an understanding which fosters effective employment planning with clients.
- Assisting clients with all job preparation activities such as interview preparation, development of job search documentation, developing networking profiles, transferable skill profiles, and training options.
- Working with the Bredin team of Employment Specialists to connect employment-ready clients with employers who are committed to supporting the development of a diverse workforce.
- The collection of client information and updating of client files to ensure accurate and relevant case file management in accordance with funder guidelines and privacy regulations.
- Staying informed of labour market trends and economic changes which may affect our client’s short and long-term employment opportunities and sharing the information to enable informed decision-making.
- Work in collaboration with the client to develop action plans, schedules, and occupational goals which respect the right of the client to make their own career and life decisions

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Career Development Professional (CCDP) designation is an asset.
- Prior experience providing career development & employment coaching to client from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven ability to develop positive and motivating coach-client relationships.
- Experienced in privacy regulations, information collection and data management using client management software.
- Able to deliver client services using a variety of venues, including in person, virtual, and individual and group sessions.
