Duties would include:
Indigenous Service: to provide culturally responsive prevention and protection services, including investigation/assessment and ongoing protection services to Indigenous children and families; to consult with the First Nation, Inuit or Métis community in the provision of service to the family.

Intake and Ongoing: to provide investigation/assessment and ongoing child protection services to children and families as per Ministry regulations and agency policies/standards.

Qualifications Considered: Authorized Child Protection Worker would be considered an asset; Indigenous Studies Degree, BSW, or BA with direct child welfare experience.

Consideration will be given to other educational backgrounds such as a College Diploma in Social Services or Child & Youth Work.

Ability to identify your own privilege and biases and how they impact your daily work - particularly racism; anti-Black racism; anti-Indigenous racism; hetero sexism, transgender inequity and classism. Indigenous persons with lived experience within these communities.

Persons with experience working with Indigenous communities is required for Indigenous services. Knowledge of Indigenous history, people, cultures and communities and a demonstrated ability to engage with the communities;
Preference will be given to persons with extensive experience working with other cultural and/or 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and/or possess lived experience within these communities.
