Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working in our Waterloo office, the Accounting Assistant is a key contributor role without direct reports. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for managing financial reporting work flows and assisting the CFO. Specific responsibility for accounts receivable, cash and cost control management reporting.

- Manage all aspects of AR and cash processes within Epicor Kinteic ERP.
- Manage invoicing on project jobs and collaborate with Project Management on customer payment milestones.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on project status including preparation of project revenue statements.
- Manage the invoicing of after market sales, freight and service orders.
- Record collections, process check deposits, and prepare weekly cash flow projections and Bi-weekly collection reports.
- Review and provide feedback on completed job orders and track project billings to ensure they are fully billed in correct periods and allocated to the correct revenue accounts.
- Daily/weekly booking, backlog and billing reports.
- Monthly reconciliations of cash, AR, AP and customer deposits (unearned revenue).
- Assisting CFO as needed with custom reports and analysis.
- Develop and document standardized work processes and procedures and to ensure associates work to the established standards within established for all of our companies.
- Provide support and documentation to internal and external auditors for financial audit purposes.
- Minimum post-secondary diploma/degree or related financial and business management discipline with manufacturing and accounting experience.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience.
- Demonstrated success in finance or accounting facilitating growth in a B2B, B2G or B2C company.
- Advanced computer skills required (Microsoft Office / Windows). Epicor ERP experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written (in English).
- Ability to write reports, business communications, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a strong sense of initiative.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Problem Solving skills to deal with novel situations.
- Operates within established guidelines and escalates issues as appropriate.
- Evaluated based on attainment of assigned objectives critical to company success.
- Regular interactions with other functional department staff heads and internal stakeholders, as well as external relationships with industry, suppliers, customers, production and distribution employees as required.
- Self-starter that can function independently and as part of a team.

Pay: From $52,500.00 per year
