**Finance and Accounting Assistant (6 Month Contract)**

**Job Description**:

- Assists with month end close process by performing account reconciliations, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Provides accounting support within the Finance and Accounting department including posting journal entries, gathering, sorting and filing documents and information, as requested.
- Enters account information into the general ledger to document financial transactions.
- Assists with monthly general accounts receivable invoicing.
- Prepares reports to support premium reconciliation process.
- Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.

**Qualifications**:

- A secondary school diploma.
- Experience in or exposure to general accounting is a strong asset.
- Data entry, word processing and intermediate Excel skills.
- General knowledge of accounting software (i.e. Microsoft NAV, general ledger, accounts payable, cash management, etc.).
- High level of attention to detail.
- Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
