Technical Trainer

**About the Role**: This role sits in the Production Engineering department and Developer Experience (Learn & Develop) group, which provides AlayaCare Engineering with a smooth, efficient & fun way of working within the development lifecycle - Learning, Developing, Validating and Deploying. Developer Experience is an amplifier for efficiency, quality, and innovation across AlayaCare. As a Technical Trainer, you will be part of the Developer Experience group. You will be coordinating the boot camps and creating training materials based on our in-house technologies by talking to different Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the organization. You will need to keep up with the innovation pace in our architecture to make sure our training courses and training programs are tailored to the needs of our developers. - You will be part of a team of 150+ employees dedicated to product development with engineering hubs in Toronto, Montreal, and Victoria - You will be working with your colleagues from the Learn team, the other DevX sibling teams and your engineering manager. - You'll be responsible for the curation of AlayaCare specific technical content, its propagation and consumption, to new and existing engineers at the company. - You are going to be forming excellent working relationships with developers, to be able to work collaboratively on documentation that allows for easy, simple consumption and learning, which empowers them and grows their skills - and accelerates the entire engineering department. - You are excited and motivated to help construct & maintain AlayaCare's "golden paths" - the best, opinionated & supported way to accomplish important tasks. - AlayaCare Cloud is written in Python and PHP on the back-end, uses Vue.js on the front-end, and runs on AWS **What You'll Do** - Drive, solicit and curate employee on-boarding content. You'll own the engineering curriculum & schedule of new engineering employee boot camps. - Understand the training needs, and use metrics around knowledge gaps in the different teams, to design the roadmap of our training projects - Organize short recorded content for tech topics specific to how AlayaCare builds software - Support the growth of developers by promoting existing technical content in known channels of communication such as engineering guilds, relevant slack channels & senior developer meetings, and by constructing, organizing and running educational sessions based on our Backstage TechDocs - Drive recurring learning sessions for existing employees on relevant topics and ensure that staff fully assimilate the training. - Interview or survey recent engineering hires & existing developers and adapt bootcamps and DevX Learn roadmap accordingly to address feedback - Parse & collect common engineering questions & answers, to automatically unblock developers - Consume documentation created from our more experienced developers & edit, organize and curate it in Backstage TechDocs - Migrate & overhaul existing content (preferably automatically through scripting) from other learning platforms such as Confluence or ReadTheDocs, into Backstage TechDocs - Document your work and processes for future reference and sharing purposes, in TechDocs - Write new easy to consume material, which will live in Backstage TechDocs **Who You Are** - A minimum of five years of experience in training, with some aspects of Technical Writing - Impeccable standard of written and spoken English, coupled with presentation skills. - Excellent code scripting, editing tool & markdown skills - You can learn quickly, can adapt & are motivated to improve existing processes on your own. - Understanding and use of git. - Having experience using Backstage TechDocs, ReadTheDocs and Confluence would be a plus **What we offer our employees**: - Shares in AlayaCare, where we all benefit from our growth and success - SuperFlex workforce model: work where you feel most engaged and productive, whether that be at home or in one of our offices - Competitive compensation packages - Comprehensive group benefits program - Annual Wellness and Productivity Allowances - Annual volunteer hours, sponsored by AlayaCare - Fun and inclusive in-person and virtual company-wide events and activities - A highly engaging environment, fast-growing, global, and well-funded company **_If you are looking to take your career to the next level and to help caregivers deliver better health outcomes, we want to hear from you If this role isn't for you but you know someone who could be the perfect fit, feel free to share this opportunity._
