Our strategy, facilities, partnerships and resources are intentionally student-centred to foster dialogue, expression and open connections in support of the next generation of creative and cultural leaders.- The Student Resource Coordinator, Wellness is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of comprehensive health and wellness programming initiatives, including workshops, designed to promote and enhance students’ success and well-being in 7 dimensions. These dimensions include emotional, psychological, physical, environmental, social, cultural, academic, spiritual, and financial. The Coordinator is knowledgeable and informed of the current stressors and wellness needs and challenges of the student body and develops timely and specific activities and strategies to address these needs. The Coordinator plays a key role in engaging students in the university community, fostering connections among the student body and building a university community where health and wellness is a priority.**Benefits of Joining the Emily Carr community**:

**Some Typical Duties Include**:

- Drives health outcomes by ensuring that all wellness related activities are in alignment with Ministry mandate on student wellbeing and in consideration of the University’s strategic plan. This includes the development of short and long-term goals in the form of tactical implementation plans, in consultation with the Counsellors and the Executive Director, Counselling + Wellness, Access + Learning Support.
- In conjunction with and under the oversight of Counsellors and the Executive Director, Counselling + Wellness, Access + Learning Support, promotes and facilitates student wellness by creating and delivering a regular schedule of programming, including a variety of workshops, events and presentations on campus that address students’ success and well-being in 7 dimensions.
- Research best practices at other organizations and post-secondary campuses for improving student’s health and wellness.
- Conducts formative and summative evaluation and assessment of events. Develops briefing notes for the internal evaluation of program utilization, for the purposes of operational and budget planning. Maintains statistical data, analyses, and prepares program reports, proposals, memoranda, correspondence, and other written materials as required.
- Promotes and markets workshops, programming and events through print materials, posters and various social media sites and Emily Carr’s Playlist.
- In consultation with University Communications, develops and implements a communication strategy to connect the student population with programming, activities and workshops taking place in the Emily Carr community, to maximize attendance and participation in these events.
- Collaborates with various departments to identify and address students’ wellness needs, including Emily Carr University Students’ Union, Foundation Studies, Continuing Studies, Career + Work Integrated Learning, Writing Centre, Library, Aboriginal Studies, Graduate Studies, and academic areas.
- Creates and promotes opportunities for student involvement and leadership on campus.
- Works closely and collaboratively with the Emily Carr Student’s Union to build a safe, healthy community of care for the student body.
- Assesses students’ needs and administers on-going data collection to improve student success, health, and wellness. Provides recommendations for new program ideas, including those related to leadership development and peer programs.
- Acts as a resource to staff and faculty in their work to support students and foster perseverance and success.
- Provides leadership in the university community in creating an environment that has health and wellness as an integral part of the community.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Social Work or Social Services, Health Education or Recreation Therapy.
