**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Airport Operations, this position manages airport-wide “day-of” operations, and short to mid-term priorities impacting airside, air passenger terminal, groundside operations and cargo/freight operations. This position is accountable for the ‘day-of’ (24/7) for all airport operations, including the on-duty Manager, Operations’ responsibilities, the smooth flow of aircraft, vehicle traffic, passengers, baggage and cargo, airport safety and security, the management of irregular occurrences including emergency circumstances and ensuring compliance with all regulated and airport standards.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Responsible for being a customer-centric Leader with respect to the mission, vision, values and beliefs
- Plan and prepare for a successful “Day Of”, identifying and/or following up on any flow interruptions to ensure effective resumption of normal operations as quickly and as safely possible
- Integrate event, activity notifications and construction and maintenance activities received in advance to create the day-of plan and to ensure adequate resources and contingencies are in place
- Disseminate all information airport-wide in a timely manner
- Monitor airport operation to identify any gaps or challenges to the operational integrity or flow and advise appropriate Manager Operations immediately of any concern that arises, or action taken by the IOCC
- Maintain all airport operations integrity and manage the operation using prescribed standards and metrics
- Ensure the integrity of the IMS (Incident Management System) is followed and that escalation up and down is appropriate in all situations
- Proactively plan for, communicate and implement operational continuity procedures caused by weather, power outages or other operational variables
- Manage and facilitate debriefs of emergency and/or irregular events and ensure action items are followed up on by assigned leads.
- Contribute to cost-effective airport management by ensuring the effective triage of incoming calls and dispatching the accurate resources and capitalizing on opportunities to generate NAR (Non-Aeronautical Revenue)
- Control costs through effective leadership of all partners to ensure day-of flow is maximized and service delivery failures are mitigated
- Maintain overall command and lead the IMS and/or act as the interim EOC Director until the level 1 or 2 EOC Director arrives
- Ensure all potential operational disruptions are collaboratively planned with the community to ensure appropriate capacity reductions are implemented to deliver the day-of schedule and honour SLA targets
- Ensure any other weather event such as LWS or high winds is delivered through proactive dialogue with our partners such as airlines, Nav Canada, ground handlers, government agencies, etc.
- Generate comprehensive problem identification and mitigation
- Provide timely updates to Director, Aviation Operations during and at the conclusion of airport impacting events including the daily Senior Management operational updates and editorial rights of daily Executive Overview
- Lead through example the People Manager Promise to support and further the business’ vision through modelling

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Aviation Management, Business Management, or Logistics would be an asset, and/or equivalent education and work experience
- 8 years’ experience in an airport environment or similar with demonstrated experience in serving a large and complex customer base
- 8 years’ leadership experience with people management experience, preferable in a matrix organization, with exposure to various operational functions
- Demonstrated experience working in a customer-centric environment
- Ability to obtain and retain a D AVOP within ninety (90) days of commencing the position
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
