**Job Summary**:
Reporting to Building operation manager, the Building Maintenance Technician will support the Operations and Infrastructure team through core maintenance services and continuous improvement of overall operations. This role is a great fit for a passionate technician seeking to strengthen their knowledge across diverse fields (plumbing, building mechanics, electricity, heating and air conditioning.

**Responsibilities**:

- Mechanic support for building maintenance tasks.
- Receive and handle various goods including boxes, chemical containers, equipment etc.
- Perform minor building maintenance and repairs (i.e. Painting, changing tiles).
- Collect, label and store laboratory waste products properly by following disposal company policies.
- Provide support with furniture and equipment moves.
- Respond to tenant requests in an efficient manner.
- Assist with occasional outdoor work (i.e. Shovelling snow, pruning trees).
- Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Experience & Qualification**:

- A high school diploma, building maintenance diploma or related discipline.
- 2 years experience as a handyman is an asset.
- Must be able and willing to work outside regular hours for scheduled maintenance, be available for on-call/standby and emergency callouts as they arise.
- Availability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies on a rotating schedule
- Due to the highly physical nature of the job responsibilities, successful completion of a physical ability test is required during the conditional offer process.
- Able to work independently and safely.
- Able to perform physically demanding work including bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling and manual lifting up to 50lbs;
- Demonstrated adaptability to changing situations and demands.
- Problem-solving, multi-tasking and ability to take the initiative is highly valued.
- Fully committed to providing the highest possible standards of customer service and support.
- Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
- Bilingual (French & English).
