**Scope of Position**
Reporting to the Manager - Product Definition, the Technical Publications Specialist is responsible for providing and managing the technical publications data required for training, maintenance, and repair of aerospace manufacturing products. This role is critical in ensuring that all documentation meets industry standards and supports the operational needs of aerospace professionals.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Define and coordinate with external vendors for publication implementation plans and schedules specific to aerospace projects.
- Research, plan, write, and distribute technical publication data according to aerospace standards, specifications, and requirements from multiple sources while ensuring adherence to strict schedules.
- Verify the correctness and completeness of publication data to support aerospace operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements and product enhancements in line with the Strategic Plan of the aerospace division.
- Act as a focal point between customers and internal/external work groups to facilitate issue resolution related to aerospace documentation.
- Create, maintain, standardize, and manage departmental documents to ensure consistency and compliance with aerospace industry standards.
**Experience**:
- 5 years of experience in Technical Publications or Technical Writing within the aerospace sector.
- Prior experience in team leadership and process development within aerospace projects is highly desired.
- Strong communication skills (speaking and writing English) tailored to aerospace terminology and audience.
- Comprehensive understanding of aerospace engineering systems and design procedures.
- Detailed knowledge of aerospace technical publications processes and techniques such as IPC, AMM, SRM, NDTM (NDT Manual), and VSB (Vendor Service Bulletin).
- Good understanding of aerospace standards such as S1000D and ATA100/2100 specifications, as well as AECMA PSC-85-16598 Simplified English.
- Familiarity with SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language) and CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) as used in aerospace documentation.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on aerospace documentation projects.
- Detail-oriented with strong project organization and time management skills pertinent to aerospace projects.
